KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai called on US President Joe Biden to reconsider the decision of directing 3.5 billion of Afghan assets to the victims of 9/11.
Talking to a press conference on Sunday in Kabul, Karzai said the Afghan assets in reserve should be deposited in Da Afghanistan Bank for support of the Afghan financial system and that it should not be used.
The US President Joe Biden signed an order to move $3.5 billion of $7 billion assets in US banks to the victims of 9/11. Another half of the $7 billion will be allocated to the humanitarian services in Afghanistan.
Karzai called for the early reopening of all schools and universities in the country. A country without educated people cannot make progress.
The Afghan assets in reserve should be deposited in Da Afghanistan Bank for support of the Afghan financial system and it should not be used.
Karzai told the reporters that the al-Qaeda leader Bin Laden came to Afghanistan from Pakistan and he “returned” back Pakistan and was killed there.
The Afghans are as much sacrificed of terrorism as the Americans, he said.
