AT-KABUL: Fifty three Taliban militants were killed and 20 others injured as the result of different crackdowns within past 24 hours, security officials said on Monday.
In a statement Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel launched clearance operations against insurgents in various districts of Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Paktia, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Herat, Farah, Ghor, Baghlan, Jawzjan, Samangan, Kunduz, Takhar, Sar-e Pul and Helmand provinces.
In the operation at least 53 insurgents including two local commanders of Taliban were killed, 20 injured and three others arrested.
The press statement said that in the operations was conducted in cooperation with air and artillery forces and they killed four Daesh fighters in the Achin and Pachir Wa Agam districts Nangarhar province
According to MoD statement the ANSF seized and confiscated a huge weapon cache and one mine- making factory in the Helmand province. Ten Afghan army soldiers were killed in the raids by the enemies.
