AT News Report-KABUL: Afghanistan’s Security and Defense Forces have pummeled insurgency-stricken areas in at least twelve provinces during the weekend, killing more than 53 Taliban insurgents in much-orchestrated crackdowns which left 38more militants injured.
The Army in collaboration with PoliceForces and NDS security agents carried out operations in Nangarhar, Kunar, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab, Balkh, Nimroz and Helmand provinces.
A Ministry of Defense statement said the operations left 53insurgentskilled and 38others badly injured. Two militants were caught and surrendered to the judiciary for terrorism trials and investigations.The air force pounded the enemy hideouts with artilleries and air strikes, it added.
Afghan soldiers killed more than 19 Taliban-affiliated insurgents and hurt four more of them in Chaharchino district and capital city of Uruzgan province and fourteen insurgents including a commander of Taliban’s so-called Red Unit Abdullah, wounding 23 others, dismantling a vehicle that belonged to enemy in Qarabagh and capital city of Ghazni province. Some twelvemilitants were killed and seven others wounded in Par Chaman and Posht Rod district of Farah province.
Similar, six rebels were killed in Khash Rod district of Nimroz, two insurgents killed and four wounded in Chamtal district of Balkh, two militants were arrested and five bullet of mortar discovered and seized in Khogianai district of Nangarhar province.
In past 24 hours,nineplaned clearing operations,and Special Forcesoperations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted114aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including10strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
