AT-KABUL: At least 54 armed Taliban fighters were killed and nine others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Uruzgan, Paktiya and Zabul provinces. In these operations 54 rebels were eliminated and nine others injured.
Two insurgents were arrested and handed over to relevant authorities for interrogation. Police also recovered huge cache of weapons and ammunition in the operations, the ministry claimed.
