AT-KABUL: The Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) on Tuesday said that Counter Narcotics Police (CNP) has succeeded in arresting 59 drug traffickers from different provinces within the past one month.
In a press statement issued here, the CJTF said the smugglers were arrested in Logar, Khost, Daikundi, Takhar, Kandahar, Paktia, Nimroz, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Kabul, Jawzjan, Herat, Ghazni, Balkh and Baghlan provinces on drugs and liquor trafficking charges. Two females were also among the arrested drug traffickers.
According to the statement the arrested suspects were handed over to the CJTF for further investigation. The statement also said that police discovered and seized 207kg heroin, more than three tons opium, over three tons hashish, 665,850 liter liquid chemical precursor, and 643 liter alcoholic beverages.
