AT-KABUL: Six Afghan army embraced martyrdom and seven others received injuries after their check post came under attack by the militants in western Badghis province, provincial officials said on Wednesday.
Provincial Council Head, Abdul Aziz Beg said that Taliban insurgents attacked an army post on late Tuesday that set off a two-hour gun-battle.
As a result of fierce fighting with Afghan army, the militants took away ammunition and two army vehicles with themselves, the official said.
The Taliban insurgents also received huge casualties as part of retaliation by the brave Afghan security forces. Five Taliban insurgents were killed and dozens others wounded.
