AT-KABUL: At least seven policemen and three civilians were killed and 11 people were injured in a coordinated attack by armed bombers in eastern Nangarhar province of the country, official sources told Afghanistan Times.
In first a suicide bomber targeted a police vehicle at 8:50 near to Pakistani consulate in PD-3 of Jalalabad city and two more entered to government guesthouse, Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
After two hours the attack was ended in which three attackers were killed.
The statement added that seven police were also killed and 10 including three civilians were injured.
No employee of the Pakistani consulate was killed or injured in the attack, spokesman for Nangarhar governor, Attaullah Khogyanai told Afghanistan Times.
He said all roads to the site of the attack were blocked and special forces arrived and trying to eliminate the attackers.
A government official said the Pakistani consulate building and the guesthouse located side by side and it’s not yet clear whether the target was the consulate or the guesthouse.
Several offices including Indian consulate and houses of government officials are located near to the area of the attack.
