AT-KABUL: At least 60 Taliban militants were killed and 34 others were wounded in different operations within the past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) with the cooperation of Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Wardak, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Herat, Baghlan, Khost, Jawzjan, Faryab and Helmand provinces..
Statement said that in these operations 60 insurgents were killed and 34 others were injured.
During operations 25 insurgents were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry, mentioned that statement.
This joined operation of the Defense Security Forces was supporting by the artillery and air forces, added statement.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
