AT-KABUL: Sixty Taliban fighters were killed and 26 others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, security officials said Saturday.
In a press release, the ministry of defense said that Afghan National Army with the cooperation of the Afghan National Police and National Directorate of Security, conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktika, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Farah, Heart, Ghor, Badghis, Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations60rebelsincluding two al-Qaeda members were killed and 26 others were injured,” it said.
The national police discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
Unfortunately three army soldier were killed in the operations.
