The U.S. spokesperson of the State Department, Tammy Bruce, said that Iran has been supporting the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Addressing a press conference, Bruce stated: “We know, of course, that the Iranian regime has always been hostile to the United States and its allies and partners.
“The United States gladly welcomes the return of Fi Hall from Afghanistan. As Secretary of State has stated, President Trump’s commitment to the American people is clear: We will not rest until all Americans detained in Afghanistan and hostages around the world are brought home.”
This is the first time that the U.S. State Department has described the Islamic Emirate as an Iran-backed terrorist group in the region.
“The United States is pleased to welcome home Faye Hall from Afghanistan. In the words of Secretary Rubio, President Trump’s…commitment to the American people is clear – we will not rest until all Americans detained in Afghanistan, and held hostage around the world, are brought home,” Bruce told the reporters, saying that the U.S. Government’s highest priority is the safety and security of the American people, wherever they may be.
The Islamic Emirate has not said anything on this matter, but always emphasized that they seek good relations with their neighbor countries and international community.
