AT-KABUL: At least 64 militants were killed and 11 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a statment, Ministry of Defense said that Afghan National Army with the cooperation of the Afghan National Police and National Directorate of Security conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Kandahar, Herat, Farah, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.
The statement added that in these operations 64 insurgents including a local commander was killed and 11 others were injured.
Afghan forces during operation arrested nine insurgents and handed over them to judicial organs for further inquiry, added statement.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force
During these operations, 15 Taliban fighter including a local commander named Mulla Adam along with a Pakistani terrorist killed and nine other arrested in Atghar district of Zabul, 10 insurgents killed and one wounded in Shahbaz and Khushk area center of Ghazni, nine rebels killed in Wazakhwah district of Paktia, nine armed insurgents killed and two other injured in Chora district of Urzgan and six Taliban fighters were killed and three others wounded in Nish district of Kandahar province.
Separately, four insurgents killed in Nadirshahkot district of Khost, three Taliban terrorist killed and four other wounded in Poshtroad district of Farah, three rebels killedin Zurmat district of Paktia, two insurgents killed and three others wounded in Sangeen district of Helmand, three armed Taliban killed in Pashtonkot of Faryab and Shindand district of Herat province.
In past 24 hours, 12 planed clearing operations, 20 Special Forces operations conducted in 10 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 58 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including five strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
