65 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 65 militants were killed and 27 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Ghazni, Oruzgan, Kandahar, Balkh, Faryab, Badghis, Laghman, Kunduz, and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 65 insurgents including 12 Daesh affiliates were killed and 27 others were injured.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 25 Taliban fighters were killed, 18 were wounded and one was arrested in Khasorozgan and Tola area of Trinkot center of Orzgan province, 11 Daesh fighters were killed in Dehbala district of Nangarhar, seven insurgents killed in Nadersahkot district of Khost and seven terrorist killed and five others were wounded in Chahardara district of Kunduz.

Similar seven Taliban fighters were killed and two others were injured in Washir and Greshk districts of Helmand, four Taliban insurgent killed in Dehyak district of Ghazni, three rebels killed and two other injured in Khakriz district of Kandahar and one Daesh affiliate killed another wouned in Alingar district of Laghman.

In past 24 hours, 14 planed clearing operations, 20 Special Forces operations conducted in 9 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 116 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 25 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
