KABUL: At least 65 militants were killed and 43 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security officials said Wednesday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Zabul, Nangarhar, Paktia, Takhar, Parwan, Ghazni, Badghis, Balkh, Helmand, Paktika, Kunduz, Maidan Wardak and Urzgan provinces, in which 65 militants were killed and 43 others wounded.
Afghan security forces succeeded to arrest 11 suspects and handed them lover to the related judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During operations, 15 militants were killed, 21 others wounded and amount of weapons and ammunition in Arghandab and Shah Joy district off Zabul—13 insurgents killed in Shirzad district of Nangarhar—ten rebels killed in Zarmat district of Paktia–seven militants killed and 12 others wounded in Khwaja Baha Uddin district of Takhar–five insurgents killed in Jabil-Saraj district of Parwan—five Taliban fighters killed in Ghazni highways—four militants killed in capital of Badghis—three insurgents killed in Balkh and Chamtal districts of Balkh—two rebels killed in Sangin district of Helmand and one militants was killed in Mata Khan district of Paktia province.
Similarly, five suspects were arrested in Char Dara district of Kunduz, four suspects detained in Nirkh district of Maidan Wardak and two suspects were captured in capital of Uruzgan province.
In the past 24 hours, 13 planed clearing operations, and Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including eight strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
