KABUL: At least seven people were killed and three others wounded after a suicide bomber targeted a tribal elder’s house Tuesday in the southern Helmand province, local officials said.
Provincial police chief, Noor Aqa Kintoz, said that a suicide attacker entered the tribal elder’s house, blowing his explosive vest up at 12:00pm, in which, seven people were killed and three others were wounded.
Meanwhile, provincial spokesman Omar Zwak said the incident took place in the police district 2 of Lashkar Gah city, the provincial capital.
He said that the house which targeted by suicide attacker belonged to a tribal elder, but refused to identify him.
Neither police, nor the provincial spokesman clarified whether the dead and injured are civilians or militias guarding the tribal elder and his house.
No armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
