AT-KABUL: At least seven people died and seven other wounded in a traffic accident in western Herat province.
The incident took place in Shindand district on Herat-Kandahar highway, when a passenger bus overturned, said Faramarz Samander, Shindand district chief. He added that the incident occurred around 6:00 am on Friday.
He said, a woman was also among those killed in the tragic incident. The injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital, however, no details about their health condition is in hand so far.
Local officials blamed the incident on reckless and driving.
Reckless driving, poor quality of roads and lack of traffic signs are considered as main reasons behind traffic accidents across the country.
The incident took place just a couple of weeks after that a road accident killed and injured more than 50 people on Kabul-Kandahar highway.
