AT-KABUL: Seventy five Taliban fighters were killed and 23 others were wounded in different operations carried out by the security forces in the past 24 hours, security officials said Monday.
The defense ministry said that the national army with the cooperation of the national police and the National Directorate of Security conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Laghman, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, Kandahar, Logar, Farah, Badghis, Baghlan, Takhar, Jawzjan, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations, 75 rebels were killed and 23 others were injured,” it said in a statement.
The security forces discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, according to the statement.
“Unfortunately, 11 army soldiers were killed in the operations as well.”
