AT-KABUL: Seventy-nine insurgents were killed and 36 others wounded as a result of different crackdowns within past 24 hours across the country, said security officials on Monday.
In a statement the Ministry of Defense said that the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) conducted clearance operations against insurgents in various districts of Kunar, Nangarhar, Patika, Paktika, Ghazni, Khost, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Herat, Farah, Ghor, Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Samangan, Kunduz Sar-e-Pul and Helmand provinces, in which 79 insurgents were killed and 36 others wounded. In addition six militants were detained.
Nine Afghan security forces were also killed during operation, the statement added.
