AT-KABUL: At least 89 militants have been killed and 26 others received injuries in different crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces within past 24 hours, security officials said.
In a press statement issued here, the Ministry of Defense, (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal have conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Laghman, Paktika, Khost, Logar, Urzgan, Faryab, Kunduz, Takhar, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces, in which 89 insurgents including two Daesh insurgents were killed and 26 others injured.
Moreover, nine insurgents were arrested during operations, handed over to the judicial organs for further inquiry, the statement added.
This joint operation of the Defense Security Forces was supporting by the artillery and air forces, the statement added.
Furthermore, the statement informed that ANA had discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition belonging to the insurgents during operations.
