AT-KABUL: Ninety-one Taliban fighters were killed and 56 others were wounded in different crackdowns carried out by the security forces in the past 24 hours, officials said Sunday.
Ministry of Defense said that the national army with the cooperation of the national police and National Directorate of Security conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Wardak, Paktia, Paktika, Ghazni, Kandahar, Zabul, Farah, Jawzjan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Kabul and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations, 91 rebels including 20 Daesh fighters were killed and 56 others were injured,” the ministry said in a statement.
The national army arrested one insurgent and handed over him to judicial organs for further inquiry.
National Army also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations, according to the statement.
“Unfortunately, seven army soldiers were killed in the operations.”
