AT-KABUL: Ex-President Hamid Karzai strongly denounced the attack on Ahmad Saeedi, a prominent political analyst.
Saeedi was injured when he came under attack by unidentified gunmen in Shar-e-Now area of Kabul city the other day. Doctors told media that the political analyst is recovering.
Ex-President Hamid Karzai in press statement slammed the attack. He termed it as attack on the freedom of expression and said that freedom of expression was one of the main achievements of people of Afghanistan over the past 13 years. Karzai said that he will continue to support freedom of expression in Afghanistan, because freedom of speech is the best ever tool to safeguard national sovereignty and develop democracy.
Hamid Karzai urged the government to investigate the attack and bring the culprits to book.
Ahmad Saeedi is renowned political analyst, journalist and a former diplomat. He is one of the main critics of the successive governments.
