AT-KABUL: A driver was killed and two others wounded in a suicide attack in Kart-e-Naw area of Kabul city on Saturday morning.
Ministry of Interior (MoI) Public Affairs Department Deputy Najeeb Danish confirmed the blast. He said the suicide attacker was on foot and detonated his suicide vest in Shahrak-e-Telaie area of 8th police district in Kart-e-Naw at around 9:00 am.
He told Afghanistan Times that a driver was killed and two others, including a woman and a child, injured in the bomb blast.
Kabul Police Crime Branch Chief, Fraidon Obaidi, said that the targeted vehicle belonged to the Independent Election Commission (IEC).
Mahmood, a witness, said that he was passing through the area when suddenly heard the blast. He said a vehicle was damaged and its driver was badly injured.
Window panes of adjoining houses also broke, he added.
According to media reports, the targeted vehicle belonged to Rahman Rodwal, a regional chief for IEC, but he did not hurt in the blast.
No militant group, including the Taliban, had claimed responsibility for the attack.
