AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Russian government has developed special programs to help Kabul and Islamabad to fight narcotics, a senior official said the other day.
“In accordance with the Russian president’s order after the session of the State Council presidium, anti-drugs programs have been developed to help the relevant services of Afghanistan and Pakistan,” Federal Drug Control Service director Viktor Ivanov told the session of the governmental commission on developing and implementing anti-drugs programs.
TASS reported that Ivanov asked the Finance Ministry to allocate budget funds for financing these programs. “I ask to consider the issue in the short term and make a positive decision on including to the Russian Federation’s budget for 2017 relevant budget funds to finance programs on assisting Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry Anti-Drug Police and Pakistan’s anti-drug agencies,” TASS quoted the Russian director.
