AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) has detained a six-member Taliban group, including two suicide bombers, in eastern Nangarhar province.
The spy agency said on Monday that out of the six militants, two were suicide bombers, already prepared to carry out suicide attacks in Jalalabad, the capital city of Nangarhar province, but were prevented by the NDS personnel before they could hit the target.
The spy agency said that the group was associated to the “terrorist group of Taliban” and was looking to carry out attacks in populated area to cause maximum civilian casualties. But, they were detained and two suicide vests and two improvised explosives devices (IEDs) were recovered from the possession of the would-be bombers.
The detained terrorists were identified as Munsifullah (suicide bomber), Noorulhaq (suicide bomber) and Sayd Muhammad, Mansour Rahman, Pachagul and Ibrahim.
The detained persons were handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation and prosecution.
