Chairman of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai has said that peace is impossible in the region without ensuring stability in Afghanistan. He also hinted for having a cordial relationship with neighboring India.
Addressing the Lahore High Court Bar Association the other day, he said it is not possible to envision peace in the region without restoring stability in Afghanistan. Furthermore, he called for policy of non-interference in the matters of Afghanistan for the sake of stability in the region.
He also spoke about Pakistan China Economic Corridor (CPEC), relations with Afghanistan, India and geo-strategic position of Pakistan.
The rivalry between Islamic countries, particularly Iran and Saudi Arab, will endanger the peace in the entire Muslim world. He asked for cordial relations between Tehran and Riyadh as recently their diplomatic relations going through tiny situation.
His remarks came on Monday, when Kabul was busy hosting four-nation meeting. The quadrilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan, the United States and China representatives held on Monday in Kabul aimed at establishing a roadmap to resume peace talks with the Taliban. This is also worth mentioning that militant groups increased their activities in the recent past as scores of people were killed and injured this month in different terror and security incidents.
