AT-KABUL: At least 35 Taliban fighters were killed and seven others wounded in different operations launched by the security forces in the past 24 hours, officials said Sunday.
“The national army in collaboration with the national police and National Directorate of Security conducted joint operations against the insurgents in the past 24 hours in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktia, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces. In these operations 35 rebels were killed and seven others injured,” the defense ministry said in a statement.
Unfortunately, two soldiers were killed as result of enemy firing, added the statement.
Six suspected insurgents were arrested by the national army and handed over to relevant judicial organs for further inquiry, according to the statement.
Also, the national army discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, mentioned the statement.
