AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Afghan expats in the United Kingdom (UK), from both sides of the so-called Durand Line, staged a peaceful protest in front of the Pakistani High Commission in London.
While strongly condemning the attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hundreds of protestors in the UK’s capital chanted slogans against the Pakistan’s premier spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Chanting slogans “Stop genocide of Afghans” and “Pashtuns are united, from Kandahar to Attock”, the protestors urged the military establishment of Pakistan to stop killing Afghans under different pretext and tactics.
In the Wednesday attack at least 21 people, mostly students and teachers, were killed and several others injured when four militants taking cover of dense fog scaled walls of the university.
“Pakistani government has been collecting tax from Pashtuns for the past 60 years, but in return they [Pashtuns] and their sons are slaughtered,” Fayaq Yusufzai, a member of the (ANP) in London, told the protesters.
He said that Pakistani military and civil establishments were involved in systematic genocide of Pashtuns. “They (Pashtuns) are becoming organized with every passing day. One day they will ask for violation of their rights. The day is not far when they will tell to Punjab that we could not live together anymore,” he said.
According to Taand’s website, demonstrations against Pakistan and its spy agency ISI were also staged in Peshawar and Bannu.
Although, Pakistani media is trying hard to blame neighboring countries for the attack on the Bacha Khan University, but political activists and citizens in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are of the view that the attack was carried out by Pakistani spy agency.
Bacha Khan’s granddaughter also claimed the same and said that Pakistan was behind the attack.
Yasmin Nigar Khan argued that the man known as the Frontier Gandhi is held in such high esteem in Afghanistan that even terrorists from that country would not attack anything named after him.
She accused the government of Pakistan and terror groups backed by Islamabad for the university attack.
