AT-KABUL: Thirty-two Taliban fighters were killed and nine others wounded in different clearance operations within the past 24 hours, security officials said Wednesday.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktika, and Baghlan provinces. “In these operations, 32 Taliban rebels were killed and nine of them were injured,” the press release said.
Unfortunately, four army soldiers were martyred during the operations as a result of enemy firing, said the statement.
The defense ministry also mentioned that the national army discovered and confiscated different types of weapons and ammunition during the operations as well.
