AT-KABUL: Thirty-seven Taliban fighters were killed and 25 others wounded during a series of clearance operations launched by the national army in northern Kunduz province, ministry of defense announced Monday.
“Afghan National Army (ANA) has conducted different clearance operations against Taliban insurgents in the Archi district of Kunduz province,” the ministry said in a statement.
In these operations, 37 insurgents including two Pakistani and three Tajik citizens were killed and 25 others were injured, it added.
The operations were conducted with the aim to foster security in the district, according to the statement.
Three army soldiers were also killed during operations, the statement underlined.
Archi is an insecure district and Taliban militants carry out attacks against the security forces, government servants and civilians from time to time.
