AT-KANDAHAR: Unknown gunmen gunned shot a female police officer, working for the passport office in the southern Kandahar province, provincial spokesman Samim Khapalwak said Monday. “She died on the spot,” Khapalwak said, adding that the incident took place in the PD 13 in the Kandahar city.
He identified the woman as Fawzia who was working in the provincial passport office. Khapalwak did not know much to detail about the attack.
“The attackers escaped, but police have started investigation regarding the incident.”
Nobody has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but officials often blame Taliban for carrying out such attacks.
Taliban have frequently targeted security forces in the past. The militants are against women’s education and part in the social activities.
