AT-KABUL: The court of Criminal Justice Task Force on Saturday said that 41 drug runners had been arrested through different operations launched by the counter-narcotics police last month.
The Task Force said in a statement that the traffickers were arrested in Kabul, Farah, Paktia, Nangarhar, Takhar, Samangan, Khost, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kapisa, Kunduz and Herat provinces.
“After primary investigation, the detained drug traffickers were handed over to the counter-narcotics court,” the statement said.
“Some 281 kilograms of heroin, 916 kilograms of opium, 1,943 kilograms of hashish and 1,981 liters of alcoholic beverages were found and confiscated from the abovementioned smugglers,” the statement mentioned.
It is worth to be mentioned that 31 drug traffickers were arrested and handed over to judiciary organs for inquiry the month before last.
