AT-KABUL: Two civilians were killed and seven others injured in a roadside bomb blast Tuesday morning in Kabul city, a security official said.
“A bomb placed under a bridge in police district 11, exploded at 9:00 am, killing a woman and a child and wounding seven other civilians,” Najib Danish, deputy spokesman for interior ministry said.
The interior ministry said in a statement that five officers were suspended following the incident.
A delegation was assigned to evaluate if the officers were guilty, it added.
The ministry strongly condemned the attack.
Separately, a former senator Rafiullah Gul Afghan claimed that it was a remote-controlled bomb placed to target his convoy.
He said that four civilians were killed and over 10 injured.
No armed group has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.
