AT-KABUL: The former security officials on Friday spoke about Pakistan’s double standard on peace and security in Afghanistan.
Commemorating the first death anniversary of Hikmatullah Haqmal, the ex-police chief of Grishk district of Helmand province, former Defense and Interior ministers, Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, and Mohammad Omar Daudzai, said that Pakistan was never honest with Afghanistan in bringing peace and security in the country.
Daudzai said that Pakistan never wanted to help Afghanistan in bringing peace and security to the country. “We should not expect help from Pakistan in bringing peace to the country,” the former interior minister said.
The former defense minister Mohammadi slammed the Taliban insurgents for killing the Afghan security forces by receiving orders from Pakistani spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
However, he assured the Afghan security forces that people would always support them in the fight against terrorism and insurgency. He also lauded the Afghan security forces for their sacrifices in the fight against insurgents. He called on the Taliban to shun violence and join the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process.
