AT-KABUL: The disaster management authority with the cooperation of aid organizations, distributed foodstuff and other essentials to 700 families displaced froms their houses in the northern Kunduz province, local officials said Monday.
Provincial Governor Asadullah Omarkhail said that the families had been displaced because an operation was ongoing against the Taliban insurgents in their villages. “So far, more than 700 families have been displaced to the new building of Kunduz University,” Omarkhail said, fearing that the number of the families would jump up to 2,000.Meer Aqa, head of the disaster management authority in Kunduz province said that the distribution of the aids would regularly start on Tuesday, covering all the displaced families in the Kunduz University and other areas of the province.
