AT-KABUL: At least 104 militants including 39 members of the Daesh terrorist group were killed and 39 others injured in a series of operations launched by the Afghan National Security Forces across the country, security officials said.
Ministry of Defense said in a statement Wednesday that as the result of joint military operations of the Afghan National Army, National Directorate of Security and the Afghan National Police, at least 104 rebels including 39 Daesh fighters were killed and 39 others injured.
The statement added that the operations were launched in the past 24 hours in different areas of Nangarhar, Uruzgan, Herat, Ghazni, Farah and Kunduz provinces.
“Qari Yousuf, a commander of the Daesh was among the killed,” the statement added.
The operation was launched to repress the insurgents and maintain security of people.
According to the statement, nine soldiers were killed during the operations.
