AT-KABUL: In protest to the education ministry’s decision to omit 11th, 12th degrees in a number of Bagrami district high schools, hundreds of people staged demonstration.
The ministry of education says the decision has been taken due to dozens of problems such as lack of professional teachers, text books and school building in a number of high schools in Bagrami district
They claim that the decision would deprive 500 students of education.
The protesters chanted slogans, asking the government to provide education for their youth.
Abdullah Ulomi, a tribal elder told media that the education ministry omitted 11th and 12the grades in all the district schools.
“The ministry took the decision due to lack of budget for teachers salary whereas it is not logic and acceptable for area residents,” he lamented.
He warned that if the education ministry does not solve the problem, students would remain deprived of education.
Bashir Wardak, an official for the ministry said that the problem would be solved in the near future.
