AT-KABUL: Some 200 armed insurgents were killed and wounded in separate raids during past 24 hours across the country, Defense Ministry said on Monday.
Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a media statement, said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS)personals had conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunduz, Kandahar, Helmand and Baghlan provinces, where at least 200 insurgents were killed and wounded during operations. Unfortunately, five army soldiers were also killed during operations, the statement lamented.
There has been a steep rise in the number of the Afghan army casualties since they took control of the security responsibilities from the coalition forces at the end of 2014.
