Nikzad-KABUL: The Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of the Parliament as well as civil society activists on Monday called on the Iranian government to prosecute the brutal incident against Setayish Quraishi, a six-year-old Afghan migrant girl, raped and killed one week ago by a teenager Iranian boy.
The lawmakers on Monday seriously asked the government of Iran and its judiciary organs to implement its strict law in this regard.
They stressed that Iranian government is mandated to put on trial the criminal of Afghan refugee girl as this country always seriously punished the Afghans refugees who committed crimes.
It has been for one week that the Iranian government has not yet prosecuted the brutal murdering cases of Setayish, who was raped and stabbed to death by a young Iranian in Veramin state of Iran.
According to the reports, the girl was also burnt with acid aimed at hiding the brutal rape and murder incident and the perpetrator attempted to burn the victim after his friend denied to help him.The murderer was arrested by police and he confessed his crime. Afghan government ordered Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pursue the murdering case of its citizen and lawsuit for justice from the government of Iran.
Firs Deputy of Lower House, Abdul Zahir Qadir, asked the MoFA to share its findings about Setayish to the Wolesi Jirga and the nation.
Sadiqi Zada Nili, a lawmaker from Daikundi province said that Afghan nation hope that Iranian judiciary organs would sentence to death the murderer based on its strict law.
“If Iranian government did not prosecute the murder case of the Afghan refugee girls, the rape and harassment of cases against Afghans would increase in this country,” he added.
Ghulam Farooq Majroh, another lawmaker from Herat province, said the irritant cases show that the Afghan refugees are not in secure and safe condition in Iran.
At the meantime, a number of civil society activist in a press conference urged the government of Iran to sentence the murderer of Setayish to death.
Fardin Fudaye, Head of Afghanistan Youth Civil Society Association warned that if the government of Iran refrained to execute Setayish murderer, they would close the door of Iranian Embassy in Kabul.
“Weare calling on the government of Iran to sentence the murderer to death as soon as possible, otherwise we would conduct protests and shut the door of Iranian embassy in Kabul,” he asserted.
Earlier the UNHCR High Commissioner Assistant for Protection and Operations, George Okoth- Obbo also strongly condemned the brutal incident against the Afghan refugee girl.
“UNHCR would pursue this case and will appeal justice from Iraniangovernment; the news of sexual abuse against an Afghan refugee child was shakable,” he lamented.
So far there are around 2.4 million Afghan refugees livening in Iran and Pakistan, Afghan immigrants always have been faced with harassment, hitting and insult of the hosting country.
