AT-KABUL: At least 31Taliban militants were killed and 23 others wounded in military operations launched by the security forces within the past 24 hours in different parts of the country, a security official said Saturday.
“Afghan National Army with the cooperation of the National Police and National Directorate of Security launched clearing operations in several districts of Nangarhar, Kabul, Parwan, Paktia, Zabul, Kandahar, Badghis, Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Helmand and Kunduz provinces,” defense ministry said in a statement.
It added that at least 31 Taliban insurgents were killed, 23 others injured and 4 suspects were arrested during the operations.
According to the statement, the operations were backed by artillery force.
“One Afghan soldier was martyred in the operations,” the statement said.
