AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Sunday said that its operatives had killed a key Taliban military commander in the eastern Logar province.
In a statement the NDS, identified the commander as Mohammad Rahim, saying he was killed along with two others accompanying him in the Khoshi district.
“The intelligence operatives also seized two AK-47 rifles, one rocket launcher and a motorcycle during the operation.”
Numerous weapons, business cards, Pakistani currency and contact numbers have also been confiscated from the militants, according to the statement.
Taliban militants have not commented yet.
Logar is a volatile province in east of the country where anti-government groups are actively operating in some districts and usually carry out insurgency attacks on security forces.
