AT-KABUL: Armed Taliban insurgents shot dead the wife of a police officer at his house in Darqad district of Takhar province, a security official of the province said Sunday.
Noor Mohammad Hakimi, provincial police chief told media that, Taliban insurgents stormed the officer’s home Saturday night in the Noorkhil village of Darqad district, shooting his wife dead.
“According to recent investigations, the case was a family enmity and it did not link with any other issues,” Hakimi said, without identifying the officer.
He said that the woman was earlier married to a Taliban fighter, but had later got divorced.
“This is why the Taliban entered her house and shot her dead.”
