AT-KABUL: Thirty-six Taliban fighters were killed in different clearance operations across the country within the past 24 hours, ministry of defense said Monday.
In a press release, the ministry said that Afghan National Army in collaboration with Afghan National Police and National Directorate of Security conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktia, Wardak, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Sar-e-Pul, Herat, Jowzjan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations, thirty six Taliban rebels including two of their commanders were killed and tens were wounded,” the press release said.
“As a result of the clearance operation, six armed militants were killed in Andar district of Ghazni and Zurmat of Paktia, four others were wounded,” the statement said.
