AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Monday said that its operatives detained a mullah of a mosque along with his servant for having a magnetic bomb, in northern Samangan province.
A statement released by NDS, said that Lal Mohammad, also known as Mullah Ashequllah, a mosque servant were arrested on Sunday afternoon in Koka Balagh village of Hazrat Sultan district of the province.
Lal Mohammad is a resident of Aibak, the provincial capital, the statement said, adding that he was arrested when caring the bomb on his motorcycle toward the provincial capital.
Mohammad confessed that the bomb was systemized to be detonated by a mobile phone, the statement said.
Mohammad confessed that the mullah of the mosque, Maulavi Abdul Wahid, instructed him to place the bomb on the travelling paths of the high-profile officials in Samanga, the statement added.
“Both the mosque imam and his servant were detained,” the statement added.
