AT-KABUL: In two separate airstrikes conducted by the Afghan Air Force in Wardak and Paktika provinces, a commander of the Taliban and five al-Qaeda affiliates were killed, security official said on Wednesday.
Spokesman for the ministry of defense Dawlat Waziri, said that Taliban commander Mansoor was killed in an airstrike conducted by the Afghan Air Force in Wardak province.
Furthermore, he said that an explosive-laden vehicle was also destroyed during the raid.
In the second airstrike of the Afghan Air Force, at least five al-Qaeda affiliates were killed in southeastern Paktika province, he said.
Wardak and Paktika provinces considered among the most volatile provinces in southeastern Afghanistan as the insurgents are actively operating there.
