AT-KABUL: Forty-six Taliban fighters were killed and 24 others were wounded in different operations launched by the security forces in the past 24 hours, security officials said Sunday.
Ministry of Defense said in a statement that Afghan National Army (ANA) with fully cooperation of Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktia, Wardak, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Baghlan, Balkh, Farah, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations, 46 rebels including a Haqqani Network commander and 13 Daesh fighters were killed and 24 others including three Taliban commanders were injured,” the statement said.
“Four insurgent were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry,” it added.
The security forces also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
Unfortunately, 11 army soldiers were martyred in the operations, according to the statement.
