By Akhtar M. Nikzad-KABUL: The revenue taxation of oil and gas in the first quarter of current year is increased than it was in the entire revenue of last year, said official of Petroleum and Gas Enterprise.
Walid Tamim, chief executive officer of official of petroleum and gas enterprise in an interview with Afghanistan Times said that the enterprise had achieved to have more than 270 million Afs revenue from oil and gas taxation.
“Fortunately in the first four months of current year we succeeded to collect our revenues from all income sources in transparence manner and it shows we gained the entire revenues of the last year within four months,” he mentioned.
He alleged the whole revenue of the last year was about 229 million Afs.
Walid Tamim was appointed as the CEO of the petroleum and gas enterprise in February.
He termed the reasons for boosting incomes in the enterprise struggling corruption, observation the public services in the ports of the country and engagement of honest persons in various segments.
“Now the government is responsible to compare the first four months revenue with entire last year if anyone is known culprit he should be prosecute.”
Tamim pointed out that some “blood-thirsty” people inside the government outside government and in the parliament put pressure to hamper his achievements, but he never bow to their demands.
Some lawmakers appreciated the enterprise for its effective actions and urged the government to seek the reason that why the former officials were unsuccessful in collection of oil and gas revenue.
“In this regard we are determined to summon Walid Tamim, CEO of Petroleum and Gas Enterprise to offer information oil and gas revenue in ports, said Speaker of Wolesi Jirga, Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi.
