AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani and chief executive Abdullah Abdulla strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Turkey’s Ataturk International Airport that killed and injured tens of innocent people in Istanbul city.
Presidential office said in statement that the president expressed sorrows of Afghanistan people, saying that Afghans feel the pain and suffering of the people of Turkey more than others, as this country has been the victim of terrorism for years.
The president considered terrorism as a big threat for the security of the region and the world, reiterating joint actions by all countries against this monstrous phenomenon.
President Ghani offered his deep condolences and sympathies to the people and government of the Republic of Turkey, families of all the victims, and wishes speedy recovery for those who injured in the terrorist attack.
Separately, CEO Abdullah in a statement strongly condemned last night’s terrorist attacks at Atatürk International Airport.
“On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, I condole for friends and families of the victims and government and people of the Republic of Turkey.”
Abdullah said that the attack in Atatürk International Airport was a terrorist attack thus, we need to encourage resolute support and effective combat on regional and global scales to tackle this challenge.
