AT-KABUL: Eighty five Taliban fighters were killed and 17 others were woundedin different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktika, Wardak, Ghazni, Kandahar, Kunduz, Takhar and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations 85 rebels including Key insurgent commander Mullah Toor and Taliban deputy shadow government for Kabul were killed and 17otherswere injured.”
Six rebels were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
Unfortunately 10 army soldier were killed in the operations.
