AT-KABUL: Afghanistan and India signed Wednesday 10 memorandums of understanding costing 25 million dollars.
Indian ambassador to Kabul Manpreet Vohra signed the agreements with the Afghan ministers at the presence of the chief executive in Kabul, chief executive’s office said.
Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said that the projects were shared with the Indian government after being consulted with the people’s representatives, local residents and accurate assessments.
“As a friend to Afghanistan, India is committed in a constant development and continues assistance with Afghanistan in different sectors,” ambassador Vohra said, adding that today’s 78 projects were earlier promised to Afghanistan.
Minister of Economy Abdul Sattar Morad said the projects include school, health clinic and bridge buildings.
Abdullah thanked Indian government for assistance, calling New Delhi a good friend for Kabul that had set assistance based on the needs of Afghan people in the past 15 years.
Ministers of economy, public works, rural rehabilitation and development, higher education, labor and social affairs, water and energy, agriculture and irrigation, education, culture, public health and women’s affairs were present at the program.
