By Akhtar M.Nikzad-KABUL: Senior official said that armed militants gain their major financial support from cultivation, production and smuggling of narcotic and threat security of Afghanistan.
Second Vice of President Mohammad Sarwar Danish said that Taliban insurgents and the terrorist networks comprise the largest smugglers of the narcotics in Afghanistan.
Danish stressed that security of the regional and world countries relevant to smuggling against narcotics and it requires the international community to assist Afghan government in the current situation.
He highlighted that the armed insurgents gain the most benefit of narcotic from the areas where they have tackle its control, adding a major parts of the country affected from opium cultivation.
“Unfortunately, Afghanistan is mostly vulnerable of the narcotics as this dire phenomena threats hundreds thousands live of youth in the country,” he lamented.
The vice president termed large international demands for narcotics, cooperation of international mafias with insurgents, lack of collaboration of the regional states, continuation of conflict by terrorist insurgents, poverty and insufficient budget of government for implementation of national projects as the main factors for enhancement of narcotics production in the country.
Danish warned if these challenges remain steady and the international community does not assist Afghanistan, this country would not be able to struggle against the dire phenomena by itself.
According to the reports, more than two million men, women and children are addicted to narcotics and after war this phenomena creates a serious danger for people.
