AT-KABUL: A senior official in the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation was arrested on the charge of receiving 800,000 Afghanis bribe from a person, a security official said Tuesday.
Ministry of Interior in statement on Tuesday said that the criminal investigation police in cooperation with judiciary organs arrested Mohammad Mahdi, chief of policy and planning of the ministry of refugees and repatriates in an explicit corruption in the area of Pul-e-Sorkh neighborhood of Kabul city.
The statement added that ministry of interior handed over Mahdi’s case to the department of counter against heavy criminals for further investigations.
This official arrested at a time, when earlier Attorney General Office banned, one hundred and ten employees of the Kabul Municipality on charges of corruption.
Senior officials are reportedly involved in big corrupt cases, but nobody arrests them, because they are powerful.
